A tasty recipe for possibility or failure.
Take a couple of pronouns, mix well with a verb or two, sprinkle in an odd preposition and adjective and bake well for years on high enthusiasm and then serve directly at regular intervals.
The Bee Gees sing, “It’s only words, and words are all I have, to take your heart away. With only a few words like, “you will never achieve anything much in life;” or “you always fail at everything you start,” it’s very easy to take the heart and soul away from someone. To hear similar words on a regular basis from a father or mother we love, or a teacher we admire, will undoubtedly erode self-confidence and eventually rob all hope and possibility from your soul.
I was recently scanning documents I had found in a box in the attic and came across some old school reports. As I reread them there seemed to be a worrying theme developing; Read more
Welcome To My World
Thanks for visiting my blog and this first post.
I am now 52, live in the UK and this is my first blog post. I’ve had an amazing life so far, full of exciting chapters and experiences. Getting to 50 marked a milestone birthday and the realisation that there are more chapters behind me than in front. Yet, there are many things I still want to experience I am determined to “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.” So for the last two years I have been learning to write a better story with my life and I hope that you will enjoy the journey ahead with me.
Why am I blogging? That’s a good question! As these posts develop I will write to discover a key “niche” that I can speak into and hope that you will regularly come back to read. I am a keen student and avid reader on subjects of Leadership, Legacy, Happiness, Public Speaking, Travel and Creativity. As I learn the art and skill of blogging, I expect to write at least once a week on one of these key subjects and occasionally on themes that will not fit into these topics; like the time I flew 7182 miles to cook a burger for my family!
I still have some work to do on the blog design and my skills at Word press drastically need developing! But rather than wait till I have everything exact, I thought I would write and develop things on the go…
It would be great to hear from you! You can contact me via the links for twitter and email and I look forward to your comments, questions and suggestions.
