  • The Madeira Project

The idea. I’m planning on spending 6 - 8 weeks staying on the island of Madeira. A region of Portugal that comprises four islands off the northwest coast of Africa.

I want to go for its namesake wine, long walks and warm, subtropical climate. The project will involve planning, learning to speak Portuguese, and making connections before I go. I’m planning to arrange speaking events and experiencing some of the local culture off the beaten path - the less travelled roads of Madeira. There will be a book about the project before, and when I return.

This will be a three to four-year project from 2023.

  • Travel Stories

I’ve had wealth of exciting adventures, both planned and unplanned.

For instance, I once met a 75-year-old man at a Kiev airport who had $10,000 hidden between the pages of his paperback, planning to use it to propose to his fiancé. I set a world record for the shortest time in the oldest sauna in Helsinki. In Lapland, And, I was pulled face-first across a frozen lake by a team of husky dogs who only understood French!

Through all these experiences, I've had the opportunity to learn about other people but more about myself.

  • Lessons For A Memorable Life

As I grow older, I often find myself wondering how I can make the most of the time I have left. I wonder if this is a common thought among people as they age? My focus has shifted from creating a life to remembering one.

This project aims to explore ten ways to make life memorable. These include both attitudes and actions to fill one's days and those of loved ones with meaningful moments.

The attitudes are: serving others, seeking new experiences, learning, celebrating, and giving. The actions are: surprising, traveling, connecting, taking time to stop and listen.

It's about knowing that we made a difference during our time here on earth. Or at least made it memorable.

  • The Sundial Series

Humans have always sought to measure time - from the cycles of night and day to the passage of a lifetime.

The Sundial Series is a collection of ten short books that aim to help capture personal memories and experiences by answering simple questions. The answers are collated creating a library of memories that can foster gratitude. But also, left as a legacy for generations who follow.

The series takes its name from the traditional practice of inscribing mottos, poems, or sayings about the passage of time on sundials. Like a sundial, the series serves as a reminder of the finite nature of our time on earth and the importance of using it wisely. But bringing a blessing as you remember and celebrate the life you’ve lived.

  • The Art of Memorialising

The Art of Memorialising addresses the question of how you would like to be remembered online and what should happen to your online presence after you pass away.

As more and more aspects of our lives, such as memories and money, are managed online, it is important to take proactive steps to protect, preserve, honour, and remember our online lives.

The #Deathtech industry offers new ways to remember and honour the deceased through digital asset management start-ups and eco-friendly burial alternatives.

The Art of Memorialising provides news, ideas, and opinions to help you make informed decisions about your digital legacy or the legacy of those you love.
